Sanruus is a matter of the heart.

My name is Caroline Kalde, and my connection to Amrum goes back to my childhood. Summer after summer, year after year, this island has become an essential part of my life.

From this connection, something deeper has grown: the feeling of truly being at home here. After completing my culinary training in the Münsterland, my path led me back to Amrum, where I worked as a pastry chef at Café Schult in Norddorf. It was there that my love for the island became a true sense of belonging.

In 2019, I fulfilled a long-held dream with Sanruus – creating a place that captures and shares exactly this feeling. Today, Sanruus is a place shaped by family. Together with my husband and our daughters, we spend special time here – defined by calm, openness, and the unique atmosphere of Amrum. Over many stays, this place has grown into a second home for us.

Sanruus stands for this very feeling: arriving, breathing, and wanting to stay.
